The very practical Clarity Action Plan workshop (formally known as the Plain Language Action Plan) is modelled on Lynda Harris’ landmark book Rewrite — how to overcome daily sabotage of your brand and profit. The 4 x 2.5 hour sessions will set you up to embed a culture of clear, effective, and human-centric writing at your place.
Come away with a doable, and tried and proven project plan to get everyone writing in a way that saves money, improves outcomes, and reflects international best practice.
Skills you’ll gain
You’ll learn how to a get agreement for a documented plain language standard across your organisation and how to train people in using and embedding the standard.
The Clarity Action Plan techniques you’ll learn will make it easier for you to:
- make the business case for plain language by calculating the dollar cost and major impact of sub-optimal writing
- implement the Rewrite for Change™ model as your proven framework for positive action
- use the Write Plain Language Standard (or your own) strategically and in daily work
- plan helpful resources and activities
- create a Readiness Mindset™ to bring your people with you.
Who this training is for
This training is for plain language advocates and champions of clear communication.
You’ll also benefit from the workshop if you are:
- a Plain Language Officer under the Plain Language Act 2022 (New Zealand)
- anyone else responsible for helping their organisation to implement the Plain Language Act.
